Lightning McQueen and Mater to Greet Guests at the Cozy Cone Motel

On a visit to the all-new Cars Land, you may just cross paths with two of Radiator Springs’ most famous residents, Lightning McQueen and Mater. Throughout the day, these best pals will be driving through town to the Cozy Cone Motel to make a few new friends.

 

 

 

 

New Character Appearances at Disney CA Adventure

When it’s officially reopened on June 15, Disney California Adventure park will feature even more Disney than ever before, with our famous cast of characters making special appearances in delightful new entertainment offerings.

Down on Buena Vista Street, it’s the 1920s and 1930s, and you may run into those young upstarts, Chip ‘n’ Dale, who are looking pretty snazzy in spiffy period outfits. Goofy’s got a plaid suit that’s the “cat’s pajamas,” while a new fella named Mickey Mouse has just arrived in town, hoping to make his dreams come true just like his pal, Walt Disney. He might even join the Red Car News Boys for a song and get discovered in the process.

Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree Kicks in Gear This Summer

A few weeks back, we told you about the all-new Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree happening in Frontierland at Disneyland park. If you haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, here’s a look at some of the festivities.  Right now, Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, but starting June 18, you’ll be able to say “Howdy!” to your favorite characters here seven days a week all summer long. Adding to the fun, that famous fiddlin’ foursome Billy Hill and the Hillbillies will be performing at the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree this summer, too, so y’all come on down!

Disneyland Resort Announces 2012 Price Increase

Today, Disneyland announced a price increase on all tickets effective Sunday, May 20th.  The list below reflects the adult price today, and the new price.  A 1-Day, 1-Park Ticket increased from $80.00 to $87.00 and a 1-Day Park Hopper Ticket increased from $105.00 to $125.00.

More Entertainment on Buena Vista Street

According to the Disney Parks Blog,

Over “On the Sunny Side of the Street,” the musical group Five & Dime arrives in Carthay Circle to jazz things up. This ensemble of friends and relations, headed up by a vivacious singer named Dime, has traveled down Route 66 all the way from Chicago in the hopes of making it big. Like everyone who comes to Buena Vista Street, great things await them just around the corner!

With the Cars Land being along Route 66 as well, the story line will tie in both areas together.  In addition, newsboys will be along the area as well...

The Red Car News Boys roll into town on one of the shiny Red Car Trolleys, belting out “California, Here I Come!” Inspired by the spirit and style of Disney’s “Newsies,” the Red Car News Boys bring the latest headlines and engage their audience with fun songs of the ‘20s and ‘30s.

Carthay Circle Theatre

CARTHAY CIRCLE THEATRE -- Inspired by the Carthay Circle Theatre where Walt Disney premiered Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937, a new visual icon in the tradition of California's great entertainment palaces will draw guests into the heart of Disney California Adventure park. When it opens in summer 2012, this new facility will be home to a new lounge and elegant restaurant, designed to be the premier dining destination and centerpiece in Disney California Adventure.

Luigi's Flying Tires

Luigi's Flying Tires -- Coming to Disney California Adventure park in summer 2012 is Cars Land. Experience an "air-raising" adventure on Luigi's Flying Tires where you can glide on air and whirl into your pals. The new attraction is one of three opening at Cars Land.

Disney Parks released a new video showing a computer generated glimpse of the new Buena Vista Street entrance to Disney California Adventure. 

Fantasy Faire Expereince Coming to Fantasyland

 

The borders of Fantasyland will be extended at Disneyland to include a new Fantasy Faire Experience.  The Carnation Plaza Gardens and Stage will be reimagined into a village plaza that will fully immerse families into the streets of some of their favorite Disney stories.

Guests will now walk the streets to Tangled Tower, inspired by the movie.  The Village Square will feature the Royal Ribbon parade where you can interact with your favorite Disney Princesses.

A New Statue Revealed For Disney California Adventure

At an event at the D23 Expo this weekend, they revealed a new statue to line the streets of Buena Vista Street in the remodeled entrance to Disney California Adventure.  A new statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse.  This is an early version of how Walt looked when he first arrived to Los Angeles, before the Walt Disney Company or Disneyland.

The Partners Statue in Disneyland is the other end of the spectrum.  A mature Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse basking in the glory that became Disneyland and the Walt Disney Company.

Disney Announces Changes to Grad Nite!!!

Disney Parks Blog recently announced some new changes to Grad Nite including expanded hours and a move in 2013 to Disney CA Adventure. 

As our 50th Grad Nite season comes to an end, we are excited to announce new twists and enhancements coming in 2012 and 2013 to this traditional rite of passage so many of us experienced as high school graduates.

In 2012, Grads will have more time, more flexibility and more room for their celebration at the Disneyland Resort including the opportunity to enter Disneyland park or Disney California Adventure park at any time during their Grad Nite visit. Students will receive a park hopper ticket allowing them a full day to experience both parks!

In addition, 2012 Grads will now receive a special FASTPASS option to use during their visit and a private showing of “Fantasmic!” to kick off the exclusive private party that begins when Disneyland park closes.

Beginning in 2013, the private party will move to Disney California Adventure park where Grads will enjoy all the newest offerings including an exclusive “World of Color” viewing and the new Cars Land.
