Information For Guests With Disabilities

The following links contain information for guests planning a visit to the Disneyland Resort who may have disabilities relating to mobility, information regarding service animals, hearing disabilities, visual disabilities, and for persons sensitive to lighting.

Disneyland Kennel Club

Kennel facilities for the Disneyland Resort are located to the right of the Main Entrance of Disneyland Park. As reservations are not accepted, availability is on a first-come, first served basis.

Hours
Kennels are open 30 minutes before and until 30 minutes after Park hours.

Price
$20.00 per animal per day

Duration
Pets must be picked up at the end of the day. There are no facilities at the Disneyland Resort for overnight pet accommodations. Disneyland Resort Hotels do not allow pets; however, they do allow trained service animals.

Requirements for Dogs
The Disneyland Kennel Club and the County of Orange require rabies, distemper and hepatitis vaccination certificates from your veterinarian in order to board dogs over 4 months of age.

Requirements for Cats
Cats over 4 months old need vaccination certificates for rabies, panleulaopenia, rhinotracheitus and calcivirus.

Handling Pets
Owners are required to handle their pets and move them in and out of the enclosures. Cast Members are not allowed to handle animals. Guests are encouraged to stop by the kennels to visit and walk your pets.

Transportation
All dogs and cats are allowed to ride on the Disneyland Trams but are not allowed on the buses from Toy Story Parking Lot. Guests may use 20-minute complimentary parking at the kennels prior to parking for the day.

The following are the Theme Park Hours for the Disneyland Resort.  Please note that the Disneyland Resort only releases hours six weeks in advance.  We do our best to update these, but note they can change at any time.

Annual Pass Blockouts:  If listed, this AP is blocked out for the day.  You can purchase an AP Blockout Park Hopper Ticket for $70.00 at the Ticket Booths

Early Admission:  The Disneyland Resort is open one hour before park opening to regular guests to the groups listed below only on selected days.  Subject to change

Disneyland Signature Suites: Mickey Mouse Penthouse

Are you a “Big Cheese”? The Mickey Mouse Penthouse could be your ultimate Mouse Pad. I recently had a chance to tour it during a Travel Agent Education Program.

This signature suite is designed for “big cheeses” of all ages and offers spectacular views of the 500-acre resort (including Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park and the Downtown Disney District) through floor-to-ceiling windows. The suite brings to life all the fun that Mickey Mouse represents.

The swanky penthouse, featuring an interior design with “Mickey’s” signature colors of black, white, red and yellow, occupies an expansive 1,600 square feet and includes an open living room, dining and kitchen area, two bedrooms and two and one-half bathrooms. Classic Mickey Mouse imagery and three-dimensional artwork dominate the design scheme throughout the penthouse. Photos and sketches from the Disney library are prominently displayed, featuring images of Walt and Mickey rarely seen by the public.

In the living room, guests encounter stylized contemporary décor featuring eclectic furnishings, Mickey motifs and hardwood floors. A giant impression of Mickey Mouse fills the ceiling, as glowing lights enhance the mood of the room. The formal dining area seats eight guests. A built-in media wall is the focal point of the living room, featuring three flat screen TVs and a state-of-the-art home theater system worthy of Mickey’s status as one of Hollywood’s brightest stars.

The master bedroom is filled with luxury amenities including a king-size bed, lounge chairs, a 37″ flat panel TV and a DVD player, and it’s decorated with animation maquettes of Mickey Mouse in many of his most famous film roles. (Maquettes are three-dimensional models used by Disney animators to effectively render a character in two dimensions, and they are highly sought-after collectibles). The master bath includes a steam shower, Jacuzzi tub and a double vanity with a built-in TV in the mirror. Unique glass tiles on the shower walls bring the magic of Mickey Mouse to life as the familiar image of Mickey appears only when the warm water of the shower hits the tiled wall.

The second bedroom has a playful feel, featuring a round bed, and it doubles as a playroom for little ones. The main “conversation piece” in the room is a cutting-edge animator’s station, a high-tech table that adds to the Mickey Mouse and animation-inspired storyline. The desk will help budding artists take sketching to a new level as they draw their favorite character and watch it come to life through the magic of Disney technology. The bedroom also features a Mickey Mouse built-in armoire with a flat panel TV, DVD player and video games.

Pirates League Coming to Disneyland

A roll of the dice can change your face, your fate or even your name. A new wave of swashbuckling fun is set to hit land (Court of Angels in New Orleans Square at Disneyland park, to be exact) September 1, as The Pirates League plants its flag in the sands of the western shores.

Captain Jack and his trusted mates have searched across the land to find treasures and new recruits to join their crew. In The Pirates League, savvy pirates will transform guests, giving them their own pirate look and name, training them to swashbuckle and teaching them the official Pirate League Oath! The Pirates League is an interactive pirate experience you won’t want to miss.

The Pirates League is the ultimate pirate transformation available to guests ages three and up that lets you live your pirate dreams and learn the ways of the seven seas from veteran pirates straight from Captain Jack’s crew!

The Pirates League will offer three different packages for guests to choose from: Jake and the Never Land Pirates, First Mate, and Empress (created especially for all the pirate princesses!). Packages range from $29.95 – $34.95. Which will you choose to fulfill your pirate destiny?

This treasured experience, which launched in May 2009 in Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort, also launched this year aboard the Disney Fantasy! This special experience will be available at the Disneyland Resort, for a limited time only, this fall.

Way-Out & Mad T-Cups at Mad T Party in Disney California Adventure Park

Pam Brandon, Disney Parks Food Writer on Disney Parks Blog said,

We recently journeyed down the Rabbit Hole to the Mad T Party at Disney California Adventure park, an energetic wonderland where we danced (most of) the night away, with the Mad Hatter and Alice on vocals. Eye candy abounds in this outdoor entertainment zone, with crazy costumes, dancing flamingos, hot-pink plastic chairs and lots of neon.

But we must admit, we thoroughly enjoyed just watching the crowd, especially the Hottest Deck in Town dancers, while we sipped a Croquetini (their version of a lemon drop martini) and a Long Island Iced T Party in the adjacent House of Cards Lounge.

The light-up souvenir cups for non-alcoholic drinks are a blast – from a 16-ounce Mad Hatter Hat ($7.19) to a 32-ounce Wiggly Yard ($7.59) and a 32-ounce Mad T Party Sipper ($7.59). And the flavors are as vibrant as the backdrop, like Hatter’s Mandarin Fury (mandarin orange), Tweedle Blue (cotton candy), Jabberwocky Juice (Granny Smith apple) and Cheshire Chiller (desert pear).

The Mad T Party begins about sunset and continues until the park closes each evening. Check the park entertainment schedule for the latest schedule information.

Storytellers Statue on Buena Vista Street

We showed you a glimpse of the new “Storytellers” statue last year during the D23 Expo, and today, Disney California Adventure park guests will be able to greet the new statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse themselves when Buena Vista Street officially opens! Take a look:

A plaque just to the right of the statue tells the story of Walt Disney’s arrival in Los Angeles in 1923 in his own words:

It was July 1923. I packed all of my worldly goods – a pair of trousers, a checkered coat, a lot of drawing materials and the last of the fairy tale reels we had made – in a kind of frayed cardboard suitcase. And with that wonderful audacity of youth, I went to Hollywood, arriving there with just forty dollars. It was a big day the day I got on that Santa Fe California Limited. I was just free and happy!

For Those Planning On Visiting Cars Land June 15th

If you are planning to join us at Disney California Adventure park when it reopens on Friday, June 15, please remember the following:

• Disney California Adventure park opens at 9 a.m. on June 15; Disneyland park opens at 8 a.m. on June 15.
• The early arrival queue will open to guests on Disneyland Resort property at 11 p.m. on June 14.
• Parking will be available in the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure, and standard parking rates will apply.
• A select amount of wristbands will be distributed to guests who are waiting in line to maintain the order of arrival. All guests in line will be able to leave the line to use the restroom, purchase food or beverages, and return or retrieve items from their vehicles/hotel rooms until 6 a.m. on June 15.
• Portions of the early arrival queue will be located beyond the guest screening checkpoints, beyond which certain items will not be permitted. Be sure to check the list of prohibited items here.
• Restrooms and ticket booths will be available to guests in the queue.
• The following Downtown Disney District locations will offer extended operating hours on June 14-15:
  • La Brea Bakery Express & Cart: Open all night
  • Café Renee: Open all night
  • Jamba Juice: Open until 12 a.m., reopening at 4 a.m.
  • Wetzel’s Pretzels: Open until 1 a.m., reopening at 5 a.m.
  • Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express: Open until 2 a.m., reopening at 6 a.m.
  • Haagen-Dazs: Open until 1 a.m., reopening at 5 a.m.
